The Irish Harp of the Sheraton Doha Resort and Convention Hotel will celebrate the world-famous Bavarian festival widely known as Oktoberfest.

The celebration will run for ten consecutive days beginning 11 October 2009.

Highlighting the event will be two of the popular Bavarian entertainers, Andrea and Michael. The duo has been performing for Oktoberfest celebrations around the world from Europe, Asia and the Pacific and now in the Middle East.

The Sheraton culinary experts will create Bavarian specialties and more which will complement the fun and excitement during the 10-day celebration.

The Irish Harp of Sheraton Doha has been the talk of the town since it opened in December 2007. Business travelers and local customers frequent the place enjoying the food, music and ambiance.

Mr. Gerhard Foltin, the General Manager of Sheraton Doha, adds:

“Being one who came from the land of Oktoberfests, I may say that this could probably be the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations in Doha. The Irish Harp is the place where friends meet and enjoy festivities like Oktoberfest

Set in the basement of the Sheraton DOHA the pub fits nicely into an area that used to be leisure, the Irish Pub Company created the pub that was designed by McNally design in Dubai

The style is a mix of Victorian and the original concept would have had a <Irish> street entrance from the lower car park. That although manufactured was scrapped finally due to access and licensing issues but not withstanding that the  main pub is a gem of a design. It has two entrances one from the main lobby and one which is for outside guests. The general design is Victorian with a small brewery area and cigar area.

The bar is probably the best part of the whole thing as it has one bar serving four areas, probably the longest Irish bar in the MENA region. Each area is a different experience with one mainly showing SPORTS, another for FOOD AND BEVERAGE and then another area dedicated to MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT, there are also many smaller areas for private parties.

It has huge detail in the ceiling where a special effort was taken with the art work.

The floors have beautiful Victorian tiles. DEFINING THE GATHERING SPACE.

Throughout the Middle East the Irish pub will show more presence, as the Irish Pub Company expands its portfolio

An upgrade of THE IRISH VILLAGE is on the drawing boards  and ABU DHABI will have 1st first Irish pub in late 2010,
